Galen's RAGBRAI XXV Photo Album
Jeff
wakes up all bushy-eyed and ready to hammer the hills on day one (?).
Nice sleeping quarters. And how 'bout them train whistles?
The long and winding road...
On
the left is the Madison County courthouse in Winterset. Winterset
is home to the parents of RADPAN's own Susan Bauer. Mrs. Bauer baked
some extraordinary cycling fuel (a.k.a. chocolate chip cookies) for us
and let us chill our Camelbak's in her refrigerator. Thanks!
Susan's father is the minister at the Winterset church in the right photo.
One
of the real Bridges of Madison County. It was important to stop and
take a picture (and rest) because immediately following was the steepest
dirt road of the ride--quite a challenge for those riders with 2 centimeter
tires.
Team
RADPAN keeps up the tradition in Cumming. From left to right, Howard,
Dub, Drew, Susan, and Patty. The "I (heart) Cumming" t-shirts were
immensely popular here. How come Team RADPAN wasn't interested?
And Howard, the term "two fisted" means you keep one beer in each hand
so one won't spill while you're drinking the other.
Susan
tries out the new RADPAN shower. Thanks, Jeff and Tom for this fantastic
addition to the bus!
Milton
had this great mural on the side of a building. There was space around
the edges to write your name and home town. From left to right, Howard,
Jeff, Tom and Galen. (Photo by a helpful Miltonian.)
Galen
and Howard prepare for the descent into the Des Moines River Valley.
Is that water up ahead or just a mirage in the heat? (Photo by Jeff
Dunn.)
There are more pictures yet to be processed. Stay
tuned for updates!
